COMMUNITY SOCIAL MARKETING - HOMELY

Now a days people are facing a big challenge to purchase daily commodities due to abnormal price hike in the market affecting the middle class budget. To overcome this particular situation Vicib Sandhya introduced a new marketing approach called CSM (Community Social Marketing) .

Through CSM under Vicib homely brand Vicib Sandhya (Sandhya development society) distributes essential commodities such as grocery, pulses, detergents, clothes, Home appliances etc.. at a competitive market price without compromising on quality and standards.

These products can be bought from any exclusive outlets spread over Kerala. All products are manufactured and packed at Vicib Sandhya’s own factory facility situated at Kavumkandom, Pala, Kottayam, Kerala.

We produce all of our products using traditional recipe maintaining high quality without adding any preservatives, artificial colours and harmful chemicals. Our consumer products are mobilizing in the society without any advertisements or agencies.

VICIB (SELF HELP GROUP) – A MODEL OF MICRO - FINANCE

Sandhya development society has been active in the field of sociocultural activities since 1981. In 1996 Sandhya Development Society introduced a micro finance scheme starting with a number of self help groups at Kadanadu Grama Panchayat. We are considered as the pioneer of Micro –Finance in Kerala.

The central organization of the self help group is named as Vicib. It stands for Vikas Credit and Informal Banking (VICIB). It is also considered as the pioneers in community social marketing, Kerala.

Aims:

Primarily Vicib aims at uplifting women from poor families, especially those who are deliberately ignored from the main stream of the society. So Vicib Sandhaya helps them to create a self earning and providing short term loans for their job oriented activities.

When we look back in to the ways of Sandhya Development Society which was started in a small shoproom at remote village called Kodumpidy in 1996. But now Vicib Sandhya has widely spreaded through districts in Kerala such as Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Pathanamthitta. Vicib Sandhya has more than 103 branches and above 6000 self help groups are working now with all daily activities of Sandhya. This also can considered as the first women empowerment project in Kerala.

Characteristics:

So in our day to day life Vicib Sandhya empowers and encouraging everyone to face new challenges, creating confidence and enable them to achieve goal oriented life with financial security to the members of Vicib Sandhya.

Sandhya Production Units

Vicib sandhya head quartered at Kodumpidy, Pala, Kottayam dist. Started it’s operation in 1996 with various small scale units surrounded. The units stand for the production of coconut oil extraction. Soap & detergents, bakery, Variety of pickles, floor cleaning solutions, candle making Agarbathi making etc. The total manpower for the H.Q and the surroundings production units are projected 300 workers

Vicib Sandhya’s main production unit is situated at Kavumkandom, 3 km away from HQ. This unit started in 1999 as common production unit for mainly powderise grams, grains and spices etc.. along with packing units. Vicib Sandhya Employs common unskilled women in all these units and later skill workers after getting appropriate training on time to time manufacturing aspects.

This unit consists about 90-100 women are performing their duties on permanent basis. Recently company upgraded with all manufacturing aspects by introducing Hi-tech advanced machineries in this regard at the investment of 5-cores aiming to trade national/international requirements.

This unit can provide more employment opportunities for deserving classes of society from surroundings.

VICIB HERBAL PROJECT

The mother nature is directly related to human life. The major contribution from the nature is considered as Ayurveda in several centuries ago. Ayurveda is not only a treatment system but is a growing life style.

Vicib homely is acting a major role to produce 100% natural products based on powerful ingredients which can promote only the goodness in our daily lives. There are so many products available for topical application in the name of soaps : Vayamba, Greeshma, Kattar, Neelima, Thulasian etc.. These products are taking care of our skin health.

Considering the hair-oil for our daily needs Vicib Homely is proudly entered with a unique hair-oil named “All in One”. It is a genuine botanical oil for the most of the issues related to the head and neck. There are plenty of tremendous testimonials for migraine, common headache, vertigo, sneezing, allergy cough, nasal block, nasal cysts, snoring etc.. with this noble product.

PALLIATIVE HOME CARE UNIT

Vicib Sandhya Society is playing an important role in Pain & Palliative care unit where the most dangerous diseases like Cancer, Tumor, Renal disease, Stroke/Paralysis, Deep vein thrombosis etc.. and these patients are already given up from the hospitals in a helpless condition with severe wound and pain. Vicib Sandhya adopts all these patients for better medical attention and protect them in their crucial period.

Vicib Sandhya’s palliative care unit is directly acting with the guidance of Kerala State palliative care unit. The Volunteers of Vicib Sandhya is directly meeting the patients at their homes and offering effective attention for the needy.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Vicib Sandhya provides more opportunities for all especially common women to empower more knowledge and skill after attending Seminars/ Training programmes on time to time . Later these women are enable to look after their children very well with good – education and maintain quality lives and are more free to conduct cultural activities on a time frame festival seasons.
